Colonial Cottage Interiors
(revised)
Brief:
Photograph every room (including the hallway, scullery and washhouse) of the Colonial Cottage Museum to serve as documents of how the space may have been set up when the cottage was a family home.
Specifics:
The photographs must include significant detail and be able to provide ample information on how the rooms are furnished. The images must be of sufficient resolution to be printed at A0 at 300dpi. However, the images are not to be purely descriptive, and are to make use of natural and artificial light in order to create atmosphere in the images. Compositionally, it is permissible to move objects to create a more interesting/arresting image.
Experimentation:
Experiment with different formats, film speeds, lighting, and composition in order to overcome the problems inherent in taking photographs in such an environment.
Whatever final format the photographs take, (single view, montage, panorama, etc,), the final enlarged image needs to have sufficient aesthetic quality about it to serve as an element in a progressive interpretation of the Cottage.
Rights:
The Museum will have non-exclusive, non assignable rights in perpetuity to use the final photographs as they wish in any museum context including research, exhibition, publication and publicity, I will maintain copyright and be credited whenever the photographs are used.
